If there is one kitchen tool I would NOT want to live without for low carb cooking, it’s my food processor. I own a Black and Decker food processor.
I owned this Black and Decker food processor for over five years and used it ONCE. I kept dragging it with me during every move (and losing just about every attachment), wondering why I owned it.
Then I actually started to cook (not just microwave Lean Cuisines), and cook real food (yay for low carb high fat = real food!).
And now I use it at bare minimum once a week, sometimes 5 times a week. No joke.
The exact model I own is no longer available (this is the closest equivalent), but food processors can range from super fancy to super cost efficient.
I STRONGLY recommend you get at minimum a 6 cup food processor. It is a pain in the butt to have to do multiple batches.
Here are a few examples of how I use mine for on a weekly basis:
- Ricing cauliflower
- Making yummy mashed foods
- Finely grinding cauliflower for pizza crust
- Cheesecake cupcakes
- Pesto/sauces/salad dressings
- Cream cheese pancakes/waffles
Honestly, I use my food processor more than my Vitamix.
What do you use your food processor for?

I use mine to grind up grilled chicken for a shredded. chicken sandwich.
